Dear St. Louis Organization, The University of Phoenix-St. Louis Campus is seeking part-time faculty to teach one night a week for five or six weeks in classrooms at our three local campuses.

Interested candidates must possess a Master’s degree. Please find a listing below for the areas we are actively recruiting and further qualifications.

College Writing -- Masters degree in English. Prior teaching experience in high school or higher education preferred. Need positive attitude and desire to work with struggling students.

Economics -- Currently employed in the field, at least 5 years of professional experience, Masters degree which includes 9 credit hours in Economics.

Information Technology/Visual Communications – At least 5 years of professional experience and Master’s degree. Also need background in: web/multi-media development for commercial use, visual communication products such as photo editing software, Adobe Acrobat/Photoshop/Illustrator, Macromedia Flash, XML, experience designing electronic materials (newsletters, training materials) or instructional design background.

Research/Statistics -- Currently employed in the field, at least 5 years of professional experience, and Masters degree which includes 9 credit hours in research and/or statistics.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE INSTITUTE SPECIAL PROGRAMS FACILITATOR

Missouri State University is accepting applications for an English Language Institute Special Programs Facilitator for the College of Continuing Education and the Extended University. Responsibilities include teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) courses; overseeing curriculum design; developing and overseeing new programs; organizing component meetings; conducting orientation for new teachers; supervising teachers, graduate teaching assistants, and practicum students; administering and evaluating tests; maintaining student records; and advising English Language Institute students.

Master’s degree in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) or a Master’s degree in a related field with 18 hours of TESL coursework is required. Three years of experience teaching ESL or EFL courses in an accredited college or university, including at least one year of teaching in an Intensive English Program at an accredited college or university; demonstrated skills using Microsoft Office applications and conducting research using the internet; effective oral and written communication skills; and effective interpersonal skills are required. Overseas teaching experience at the university level and demonstrated professional involvement in the field by having presented at a conference and/or publishing in TESOL-related journals are preferred. Anticipated starting date January 3, 2005. Salary: $29,000/annually. ENGLISH LANGUAGE INSTRUCTION SPECIALIST

Missouri State University is accepting applications for several positions as an English Language Instruction Specialist in the College of Continuing Education and the Extended University. Responsibilities include teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) courses; administering and evaluating tests; maintaining student records; assisting in curriculum design; and advising English Language Institute (ELI) students.

Master’s degree in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) or in a related field with a minimum of 18 hours of TESL coursework is required. Additional requirements: two years experience teaching ESL courses in an Intensive English Program at an accredited college or university; demonstrated skills using Microsoft Office applications and conducting research using the Internet; effective oral and written communication skills; and effective interpersonal skills. One year of teaching EFL overseas in an accredited college or university; demonstrated professional involvement in the field by having presented at a conference and/or publishing in TESOL-related journals; and fluency in at least one other language in addition to English are preferred. Continuation of position(s) is contingent on revenues generated. Anticipated starting date January 2006. Salary: $28,000/annually.
