Chris Crutcher is a former school
teacher and director of an alterative
school for inner city youth, who began
writing at the age of 35. His highly
acclaimed novels for young adults
include Running Loose (1983); Stotan!
(1986); The Crazy Horse Electric Game
(1987); Chinese Handcuffs (1989); Athletic
Shorts (1989); The Deep End (1992);
Staying Fat for Sarah Byrnes (1993);
and Ironman (1995). Mr. Crutcher will read from his work,
and will share his thoughts on the struggles our young
people face today. After the session, Mr. Crutcher will
be available for questions and to sign his works.
